South African musician, music therapist and activist Sharon Katz uses her music for social activism around the world. Making history by breaking through Apartheid's barriers to form a 500-voice multicultural choir in her home country, Sharon took the group and her band on tour aboard "The Peace Train" to promote Nelson Mandela's vision of a nonracial South Africa. After his election, Sharon Katz & The Peace Train became the country's first musical ambassadors of the new democracy. Their busy schedule includes many international performances as well as new recordings.

In addition to performing as a soloist, duo, with her band, choirs and orchestras, Sharon is currently working in schools and shelters in the border region between San Diego, California and Tijuana, Mexico and with migrant children and girls rescued from trafficking rings.
