Ryan Patrick was the Executive Director of this past year's Penn State Dance Marathon, more affectionately known as THON. THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, with over 15,000 Penn State students rallying to raise money and awareness to find a cure for pediatric cancer.
Every year, this effort ends in a dance marathon, in which 700 dancers stay awake and on their feet for 46 hours. Last year, THON raised $13,343,517.33 for pediatric cancer treatment and research at the Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, which is part of $115 million raised over the course of its 42-year existence.
